Greater Dandenong invites you to join in the fun of our environmental activities, workshops and seminars. Do your bit to help the local environment, learn more about environmental issues from expert presenters and meet others who share your interest.

All are welcome to attend, however, bookings are essential for some events as places are limited. For more information about these and other events, please contact the Environmental Programs Coordinator on 9797 1757.

Frog watch and night stalk

Go on a night stalk around a local bushland area to find some mysterious nocturnal animals. Monitor the health of local wetlands and learn more about our local frog populations.

Alex Wilkie Nature Reserve Tours

Rangers available for guided tours. Natural bushland offers a variety of fauna and flora and is ideal for school groups and casual walks, a BBQ or picnic. Live steamers mini trains are also available for rides on Sundays. Closed on Total Fire Ban days and public holidays. Bookings: 9797 1757.

Friends of Fotheringham Reserve


Working bees are held bi-monthly on the fourth Sunday of the month. Activities include water watch, indigenous planting, weed control, seed collecting, nest boxing, nature walks and barbeques. For bookings, enquiries or to become a member, contact Jim and Christine Ware on 9792 1534 or 0412 331 405.

Join the Rangers for a sausage sizzle while we wait for the nocturnal animals to
