Walker St Gallery's Emerging Artist Awards provide opportunities for practising Australian-based artists to further their professional careers. Finalists will be chosen through pre-selection by qualified arts professionals.
The Awards
Partner galleries, Deakin University Art Gallery and Burrinjja Community Cultural
Centre, will each select an artist (or artists) to receive a prize of a solo or joint exhibition at their gallery in 2011.
Viridian Glass will also offer The $500 Viridian Glass Artist Award to an emerging contemporary glass artist. This artist will also be eligible for exhibitions in 2011 at the Emerging Artist Awards partner galleries venues.
Eligibility
- You must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status
- There is no age limit on eligibility
- You must be an artist who is within the first five years of your current art practice
- You must show a strong commitment to furthering your professional art career
