The Courtesy Bus is a free service provided by the City of Greater Dandenong. The service was introduced to encourage people to visit the Dandenong shopping precinct and hence improve the local economy. Operation of the service commenced in December 1996.
The service commences at the Dandenong railway station and operates between the hours of 9:15am and 5:15pm Monday to Saturday. There are seven designated stops before the bus returns to the station approx. 30 minute trip). The current route bus route incorporates bus stops at the following locations: - Dandenong Station
- Thomas Street
- Cleeland Street - Dandenong Market
- David Street - Dandenong Hospital
- Dandenong Plaza - Coles entrance
- Dandenong Plaza - McCrae Street
- Walker Street
