Priority Paid fees, decision timeframes and money back guarantee

What does Priority Paid cost?

Priority Paid attracts an additional Council fee on top of the prescribed statutory planning application fees, the Metropolitan Planning Levy (if applicable), and any fees the Certifying Consultant may charge directly.

The minimum fee is $3000 or 0.15% of the total development cost of the project (excluding land value), whichever is the greater. This means a project with a total development cost of $2.5 million would be subject to a Priority Paid fee of $3750.

Our business community agrees that the additional costs of the Priority Paid service are far outweighed by the significant savings from obtaining a planning decision within the set timeframes.


How quickly will I get a decision?

Applications that qualify for Priority Paid will be determined within 20 calendar days of receipt of the application, except where the application is received by Council between 1 December and 31 January each year, when the application will be determined within 40 calendar days.


The Priority Paid money back guarantee 

Where an eligible Priority Paid application is not determined within the above time frame, Council offers a money back guarantee, meaning it will refund the Priority Paid fee where these time frames are not met.
