Volunteer Resource Service

The Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Service (GDVRS) established in 2015, is a joint initiative between the City of Greater Dandenong and South East Volunteers. The GDVRS offers numerous services including:

  • Connecting locals with volunteering opportunities
  • Helping community organisations to recruit volunteers
  • Providing regular training sessions for volunteers
  • Providing information, training, support and resources to Volunteer Coordinators and groups involving volunteers
  • Increasing the profile of volunteering across the community
  • Acknowledging the efforts of volunteers through recognition events.

The opportunities through voluntary work are many and varied. Not-for-profit organisations include volunteers in roles related to arts, culture, education, environment, health, emergency services, sport and international development. Volunteers might be involved in research, retail sales, home maintenance or food preparation. Volunteers can be any age or nationality and are invited to discover the number of opportunities available to them.

The GDVRS aims to provide a high quality, responsive service that provides positive experiences for volunteers and agencies in search of volunteer support.

Volunteer referral interviews are by appointment only. To schedule a time to discuss volunteer opportunities with the GDVRS, please phone South East Volunteers on 9562 0414.
