HOME presents works that celebrate the important contribution that refugee and asylum seekers make to the cultural and social fabric of Australia.
Five artists will be shortlisted from the applications received. Shortlisted artists will be offered financial support of $1000 for the creation and delivery of new artworks for the exhibition.
Each selected artist will be provided with a negotiated opportunity for mentoring with an experienced artist or curator for the purpose of professional development.
Exhibiting artists may be offered further opportunity to participate in the City of Greater Dandenong’s Artist in Residence program and/or workshop program.
Artwork may be produced in any media, including but not limited to painting, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, video, photography and drawing. Artists are invited to create work based on the refugee or asylum seeker experience or any other thematic interest.
Applications are due by Friday 12 July 2019 and must include:

Images that provide examples of the artist’s previous artwork. A maximum of 6 artworks and should include between 1 - 2 images of each work
Applications will be reviewed by an expert assessment panel and shortlisted artists will be invited to participate in the exhibition. To apply please fill in the online form below.

Conditions of entry
All artworks must be the original works of the artist
One application per artist will be accepted
Incomplete entries will not be accepted
All applications must arrive at Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre by midnight, Sunday 30 June 2019.
Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre will notify all successful and unsuccessful artists of the selection outcome
