The revitalisation of the Springvale Activity Centre involves:

• additional streetscape works at the northern end of Buckingham Avenue
• powerlines being moved underground
• new public lighting installed
• additional street trees planted
• roads and footpaths resurfaced

Number 8 development:

Construction is underway at the ‘number 8’ development in Buckingham Avenue, Springvale. Located on the corner of Balmoral Avenue, the development includes four new buildings and a town square. The buildings will be a mix of retail and residential.

A multi-deck car park will also be built to replace the existing Council car park,
which will see car parking spaces increase to more than 550.

The multi-deck car park will be officially opened in September with Levels 1 and 4 now complete and Level 5 well underway.

Works on the retail shops and residential apartments in the area surrounding the car park have now commenced.

The project is due for completion in early 2011.  “number 8” will enhance the Springvale Activity Centre, improve amenity and attract people from outside the City of Greater Dandenong.
