The south east region of Melbourne provides more than 40% of Victoria's total manufacturing output. As such the manufacturing sector is a vital component of the Greater Dandenong business community.
The South East Melbourne Manufacturers Alliance (SEMMA) was borne out of a need for an industry body to represent the specific needs of local manufacturers.
SEMMA is a membership based, independent association representing the interests of manufacturers within the region by:
1. lobbying State and Federal governments on all issues directly relating to manufacturing
2. promoting the manufacturing capability of the region
3. facilitating collaboration both within and outside the region
4. identifying local and international business opportunities for members both individually and collectively
5. providing operational support for members to grow and develop their businesses.
