Gambling and our Community Forum

Gambling and our Community Forum

A forum about the harmful impact of gambling upon our community, and what Council and residents can do in response.

This event features Mayor, Cr. Youhorn Chea, social activist Tim Costello, respected academic Dr. Charles Livingstone, a local community worker and person who will speak of her experience of gambling-related problems and Cr Matthew Kirwan.

Gambling affects individuals, families and our wider community. In 2016-17, $118 million was lost to pokies in Greater Dandenong - equivalent to $956 per adult, and the highest rate of pokie losses in Victoria. For many families and households in Greater Dandenong the impacts of such gambling losses are significant.

Please come along to show your support for gambling reform and learn more about this issue.
