Sports Awards 2017 Now Open!

The 2017 City of Greater Dandenong Sports Awards are now open.  These awards recognise exceptional contribution by clubs, teams and individuals who work hard to achieve the best possible outcomes and enrich the lives of others through providing opportunities to participate in sport.

Before submitting a nomination residents are required to read the Sports Awards Guidelines. There are two options to complete the application form, either online or by downloading the appropriate nomination form.

Awards Categories

Sports Club of the Year
A club that has shown excellence in performance, actively fostered participation opportunities for all residents through innovative practices and provided enjoyment at all levels of sport.

 

Coach of the Year
A coach who has increased participation, inspired players to improve, instilled fair play and made the sport more welcoming and inclusive.

 

All Abilities Sport
A person who has made a significant impact on all abilities sport for people with a disability, acted as a role model and been an inspiration to others.

 

Team of the Year
A team that has achieved success and improved on previous seasons, demonstrated fair play and provided participants with a positive experience.

 

Volunteer of the Year
A volunteer who has contributed to the running of a sports club and achieved outstanding results.

 

Project of the Year
Recognises sporting projects that have achieved outstanding results. A project is defined as an assignment having run over a period of time (e.g. weekly, monthly etc.).

 

Athlete of the Year (Male, Female and Junior)
A person who has shown excellence in performance and inspired others, displayed excellent sportsmanship and has given back to the community.

 

Closing date

Nominations can be submitted until 5pm on Friday 19 May 2017.
