Council's Engineering Services Director named in the top 50
21 August 2017
The City of Greater Dandenong’s Engineering Services Director Julie Reid has been recognised in the inaugural Top 50 Public Sector Women in Victoria.
Ms Reid has worked in Local Government for almost 30 years, both in Australia and in the United Kingdom.
She is currently responsible for delivering a $50 million capital works program at the City of Greater Dandenong, was the project lead for the delivery of the $7million refurbishment of Springvale City Hall and is an active member of Council’s Preventing Family Violence and Gender Equity Committee.
The Top 50 Public Sector Women (Victoria) initiative is run by Davidson Recruitment and aims to recognise outstanding women in leadership roles.
In addition to being named in the Top 50, Ms Reid was one of only six women to receive a scholarship for Davidson’s Leadership Acceleration Program, entitling her to a range of executive leadership resources and opportunities.
Ms Reid said the initiative was the first of its kind to directly focus on women in the Victorian public sector and will now become an annual event.
“We need to support each other and provide advice and constructive feedback to other women who are keen to progress their careers,” she said.
“Women are strong at building relationships, as well as providing valuable coaching and advice in career development.”
