Business as usual for Council’s Recycling Service

Business as usual for Council’s Recycling Service

02 February 2018

Earlier this week recycling entity Visy announced it would no longer be accepting waste from several councils, causing concern for many residents.

The City of Greater Dandenong does not have a contract with Visy and will therefore continue to deliver all recycling services as normal.

Council will continue to collect recycling and take it to our local facility, Polytrade.

The recycling industry is a concern to all councils across Australia and has the attention of both the State and Federal governments.

We are investigating any impacts this might have on City of Greater Dandenong and our collections, while maintaining close and regular contact with our contractors in order to monitor their situation.

We encourage people to continue recycling their waste to prevent it going to landfill.

Visit greaterdandenong.com/waste for more information about our waste and recycling services.
