Have your say on open space in Greater Dandenong
13 June 2019
Council is seeking community feedback on the future direction of open space in Greater Dandenong.
Greater Dandenong Mayor Roz Blades said Council wanted to hear how residents currently use open space in the city and where they would like to see additional open space.
“Council is preparing a new Open Space Strategy which will address current and future needs in regards to open space in our city,” Mayor Blades said.
“The Strategy will look at everything from parks, sporting fields, playgrounds, nature reserves, recreational paths and civic areas such as Harmony Square.”
“Community feedback received as part of this consultation process will help guide the strategic direction of open space in the future.”
Residents are invited to share their thoughts on how they use public open space, how often they use it, what types of open space are most important to them and where they think new open space may be required.
An online interactive mapping survey has been established to help the community pinpoint exact locations and share their thoughts on those spaces.
Hard copy surveys are also available from Council’s Customer Service Centres and libraries.
Residents have until Friday 28 June to have their say.
