Have your say on the Draft Community Hubs Framework

29 September 2015

The City of Greater Dandenong invites residents to have their say on Council's draft Community Hubs Framework.

Community hubs are facilities which provide a range of services for residents. These could include maternal and child health services, kindergartens, childcare, health services and meeting spaces, all on the same site.

The benefits of a community hub include:

  • Welcoming spaces for all
  • Meeting spaces for community organisations
  • Collaboration between services
  • More opportunities for funding through efficiencies and resources
  • Efficiency through sharing buildings, utilities, amenities and management

Council has developed a Community Hubs Framework that outlines an approach to the development of hubs within Greater Dandenong. It also offers guidance to schools and other organisations which may be planning to establish a community hub.
