Council Budget 2019-20 - Have your Say

05 September 2018

Help shape Council’s Budget for 2019-20 and tell us what things are a priority for you.

Greater Dandenong Council prides itself on creating a Budget which finds a balance between the needs of the community, the maintenance of existing assets and the provision of high quality ongoing services.

Greater Dandenong Mayor Cr Youhorn Chea said while Council had many competing priorities, it valued input from the local community.

“We are always trying to find a balance between service delivery, maintaining assets and managing community needs and expectations,” he said.

“No one knows this community better than the people that call Greater Dandenong home. This is our community’s chance to guide the direction of Council’s budget for next financial year.”

Greater Dandenong Council is responsible for delivering a range of services to its local community including:

  • Children and families – childcare, maternal and child health, immunisation
  • Health and wellbeing – disability services, home and community care, food safety
  • Your hone – rubbish and recycling, planning and building permits, pet registrations
  • Sport and Leisure – sportsgrounds, leisure centres, parks and gardens, festivals and events
  • Roads and safety – roads and footpaths, car parks, street lighting
  • Community – libraries, theatre and the arts, community centres

The community can provide their ideas by Friday 19 October in the following ways

All of the ideas received will be reviewed as part of the development of the 2019-20 Budget.
