Springvale Laneway Revitalisation Project - Post Office Lane
The City of Greater Dandenong’s Springvale Laneway Revitalisation Project is transforming Post Office lane into a much improved pedestrian route from the Warwick Street carpark to Springvale Road’s bustling shopping precinct.
A number of improvements have been completed in Post Office Lane, including resurfacing, better drainage, an irrigation system, planter boxes, benches for seating and tables.
The project will be completed with a unique canopy to cover the full length of Post Office Lane.
Based on consultation with the community, leading Melbourne based landscape and urban design group ASPECT Studios developed laneway upgrade and canopy designs to reflect Springvale’s multicultural character and appeal, utilizing elements that symbolize vitality, prosperity and good luck.
At night, the canopy will be lighted, accentuating its colour design, and making the laneway a 24 hour attraction.
